Mid-America Safety & Environmental was created in August of 2018 when Southwest Missouri Safety Company purchased Brittney, Inc. Founded by construction, equipment, and safety manager Ron Hinds, the company has become the region’s largest and most comprehensive safety consulting and training provider. We provide unmatched safety and training services to businesses in all 50 states, delivering real-world solutions to the challenges faced by their clients across diverse industries and environments.

Russell Hinds

President/CEO of Mid-America Safety & Environmental

Since 2019, Russell Hinds has been Mid-America Safety & Environmental’s President and CEO. Russ brings an experienced management perspective to our operations, leading our development of safety programs for businesses of all sizes and industries. With over 250 active clients across 25 states, safety management and OSHA compliance are his areas of expertise. His experience with large group training and teamwork enhancement techniques allow him to build better programs to support your business. In his spare time, Russell enjoys golfing and travelling with his wife.

Del Mathew

Safety Consultant & Trainer

Del’s emphasis at Mid-America Safety & Environmental is industrial safety. A member of both the American Society of Safety Professionals and North American Safety Professionals, Del has the experience necessary to impart a crystal clear understanding of their role in company safety to every employee. In his spare time, Del enjoys golfing and spending time with his grandkids.

Joseph Austin

Safety Consultant & Trainer

Joseph has been an OSHA-authorized instructor since 2007, when he came to Mid-America Safety & Environmental. He specializes in teaching effective team resource management and safe industrial vehicle use. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys attending car and air shows.

Safety Consultant & Trainer

Prior to joining Mid-America Safety and Environmental in 2022, Jessica spent 7 years in the manufacturing industry focusing on safety compliance. In this field, she focused on tracking and reducing workplace injuries, along with educating employees in all aspects of workplace safety. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and running the local trails.

Safety Consultant & Trainer

Veronica joined Mid-America Safety & Environmental in 2018, bringing with her decades of experience with OSHA regulations. One of her many areas of expertise is DOT compliance. Part of our bilingual team, Veronica can teach all classes in both English and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys barrel racing and spending time at the lake.
