Course Overview
This comprehensive training program equips participants with essential life-saving skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace and beyond. Participants will learn to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies, breathing emergencies, and sudden injuries with confidence and competence.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, and choking
- Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively
- Provide first aid for common injuries including bleeding, burns, fractures, and shock
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies until professional help arrives
- Understand legal considerations and Good Samaritan laws
Course Content
CPR Skills:
- Scene safety assessment and emergency action steps
- Chest compressions and rescue breathing techniques
- Two-rescuer CPR and team coordination
- Special considerations for different age groups
AED Training:
- AED operation and safety protocols
- Proper pad placement and shock delivery
- Integration of AED use with CPR
First Aid Skills:
- Controlling bleeding and wound care
- Treating burns, fractures, and sprains
- Managing shock and allergic reactions
- Responding to environmental emergencies (heat/cold exposure)
- Recognizing signs of stroke and heart attack
Training Format
- Duration: 5 1/2 hours
- Delivery Method: Instructor-led, hands-on training with practice scenarios
- Class Size: Maximum 12 participants for optimal hands-on practice
- Materials Provided: Training manual, practice equipment, and reference cards
Certification
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certification card valid for 2 years, recognized by regulatory agencies and employers nationwide.
Prerequisites
None. This course is designed for individuals with no prior medical training.
Recertification
To maintain certification, participants must complete a refresher course every 2 years before their current certification expires.
