This counterbalance forklift training course satisfies the formal (classroom) instruction requirement of OSHA’s powered industrial truck standard — 29 CFR 1910.178 for general industry and 29 CFR 1926.602(c) for construction. How OSHA Forklift Certification Works — Online vs. Hands-On
OSHA requires forklift certification to include both formal (classroom) instruction AND a practical hands-on evaluation. This course covers the classroom portion. After completing the 11 modules and passing the online exam with a score of 70% or higher, you are certified for that portion of training.
The hands-on evaluation must be completed by your employer’s qualified evaluator on the specific make and model of truck you’ll operate, at your actual worksite.
